NCQA will open the call for new initiatives in May 2025. Initiatives must be submitted no later than 11:50 pm ET on July 1. If you are leading groundbreaking initiatives in health care quality, or if you have real-world insights, proven strategies and innovative solutions to share, we want to hear from you! Evaluation criteria
NCQA uses these criteria to score submissions and determine awardees:
- Innovation and creativity
- Sustainability
- Scalability
- Impact on intended audience
- Solution is distinct from existing approaches
- Quantitative data show results/impact
- Potential for cost impact
- Potential for quality impact
- Added value for payers/providers/patients
Organization eligibility
Organizations that hold any NCQA Accreditation, Recognition, Certification or other Distinction are eligible for an Innovation Award. Initiatives led by organizations or vendors that partner with an eligible organization may also be eligible.
The selection process
The selection panel includes representatives from NCQA executives, internal and external thought leaders and the Health Innovation Summit Steering Committee. Entries are scored on completion, project scope and outcome, impact on quality improvement, patient outcomes, sustainability and scalability and innovation.
Entry due date
The call for initiatives will open in May and will close July 1. Details about the submission process will be posted when the call opens. Submit a question through My NCQA if you’d like to be notified when the call for initiatives opens.
Submitting multiple initiatives
The same organization may submit multiple initiatives if each initiative is unique.
