NCQA’s Recognizing Innovation in Multicultural Health Care awards program shares and identifies collaborative efforts for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) that reduce disparities among minorities and other vulnerable populations. The CLAS Awards brings together health plans, employers, physicians, policy makers, and others to celebrate innovative practices and breakthroughs in reducing health care disparities.
Award recipients successfully showcase programs that:
- Identify and recognize innovative practices in health plans
- Highlight transferable examples for adoption and dissemination
- Add to the growing evidence-base on effective methods
- Advance efforts to improve multicultural health care and eliminate health care disparities
- Provide NCQA knowledge on how to develop voluntary accreditation standards in this area
NCQA invites you to join the 2009 health plan award recipients at the 4th Annual Recognizing Innovation in Multicultural Health Care Awards Dinner. This year we will honor five health plans for their advances in providing Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) to minority and underserved populations.
