NCQA’s New Program – eMeasure Certification
June 23, 2016 · NCQA Communications
Here’s an update on NCQA’s new program, eMeasure Certification – it’s our program that works with vendors that design and sell software that calculates electronic clinical quality measures (eCQM). Right now, NCQA is working with Premier, Inc. which, in the next month, will complete the certification process and receive our new Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQM) Certification.
NCQA’s New Program – eMeasure Certification
NCQA designed our new eMeasure Certification program to certify the data extraction and reporting processes that EHR vendors, data aggregators, and Health Information Exchanges systems provide. This new program ensures a higher degree of reliability for eCQM data. The testing is rigorous, and companies must prove that they have the technology for data validation and data file content, and demonstrate that they can accurately calculate eCQMs.
Premier, Inc. Soon to be 1st Certified
As the first company set to meet this higher standard for electronic extraction and reporting, Premier will work closely with its member hospitals, health systems and EHR partners to ensure that an accurate and usable data feed is electronically transmitted to payers through its integrated PremierConnect® platform.
For health plans and provider organizations this data flow will save money and time, eliminating the need for expensive manual chart review and additional audit tasks.
