HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH NCQA: 11 years 8 months
WHAT MAKES YOU EXCITED ABOUT COMING TO WORK EVERYDAY:Every day is different and that brings opportunities to learn something new from how you lead cross-functional teams effectively to how the move to digital impacts measuring quality of healthcare across the delivery system. Healthcare has become extremely dynamic and NCQA gives me the opportunity to be at the forefront of change. Being in Product means that we get to wrestle with big problems that often do not have an easily solution.
WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF YOUR JOB:Getting on the phone with customers and key stakeholders or meeting them in-person to better understand how our programs can help them improve healthcare outcomes for the populations they servetheir goals and challenges is the best part of my job. At the end of the day, everyone who works in healthcare wants to know that they are making a positive difference in helping individuals live better and healthier lives. That includes me. The best part of my job is hearing success stories from our customers who have implemented our frameworks for quality improvement and have seen transformative results for their members.
WHAT MAKES NCQA A GREAT PLACE TO WORK:Flexibility and a sense of community. I have three small children and I don’t want to miss them growing up: school events, field trips and so much more. I haven’t had to make that choice while at NCQA and that matters a whole lot to me. NCQA has always been a hybrid working place with many of our colleagues working remotely even prior to COVID. Our Great Places to Work Committee comes up with creative ideas about how to engage us in fun events both in-person and remotely. We are currently competing in a “move challenge,” which gets us on our feet a little bit more than usual.
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS:The work we do at NCQA is challenging and rewarding at the same time. We get to develop impactful programs, measures, and services thanks to the talented individuals who come together every day to solve big problems. I am honored to be a part of this impactful work for over a decade now.

WHAT MAKES YOU EXCITED ABOUT COMING TO WORK EVERYDAY: Recognizing the importance of the work that NCQA does and its impact on health care. A critical component to my role as a marketer is to help other teams articulate the value of our work. It’s motivating knowing that we play an important role in improving health care quality.
WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF YOUR JOB: The diversity in the work I get to do. Almost every day is different, and each week offers new challenges and accomplishments.
WHAT MAKES NCQA A GREAT PLACE TO WORK: It's the people. I'm lucky to work with engaging, interesting and intelligent people on a daily basis. Having the opportunity to learn from industry experts has helped me grow in my own role.
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS: NCQA’s rapid growth has given me the opportunity to take on new responsibilities that I would not necessarily have elsewhere. I'm appreciative of the managers and leaders I’ve worked with for providing the guidance and trust needed to navigate new challenges during my tenure at NCQA.

WHAT MAKES YOU EXCITED ABOUT COMING TO WORK EVERYDAY:Knowing that I work for an organization that trusts its employees to execute on the shared vision of advancing healthcare through quality, accountability, and most importantly, equity.
WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF YOUR JOB:
- Relationship building, networking and connecting.
- Working in product development allows me to build internal and external connections that formulate strategies for developing products that align with market need and company mission. I also enjoy connecting with colleagues who are mutually passionate, intelligent and humble about the challenges we face in our healthcare system.
WHAT MAKES NCQA A GREAT PLACE TO WORK:
- The culture and work environment.
- I feel encouraged to learn something new every day and grow my skills personally and professionally. I am comfortable reaching out to anyone within the organization to learn more about what they do or ask for feedback. My supervisor encourages me to take on challenges, get out of my comfort zone and lead initiatives on projects and opportunities. This type of support encourages me to be fearless and focus on how to embrace change and innovate creatively.
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS:
- Starting my career journey at NCQA has been a great place for me to grow, establish rapport with internal teams and external stakeholders, challenge my skills professionally, expand my understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, and determine where I can apply my skills to amplify the voices of vulnerable and marginalized communities.
- NCQA should consider partnering with universities that offer a master’s in health administration to help create a pipeline of diverse talent that will continue to grow the company and introduce fresh, new perspectives.
Comprehensive Benefits Package
We designed our benefits program with our employees’ financial and health care needs in mind. We offer:
- Medical Insurance. Choice of health, dental and vision plan options—yes, all NCQA-Accredited. Domestic partner coverage is available for partners and dependent(s).
- Retirement Plans. Employer and Employee contribution plans.
- Flexible Spending Accounts. Employee may set aside pre-tax earnings for medical and dependent care.
- Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance. NCQA pays premium for coverage that is two times your annual base salary to a maximum of $1,000,000.
- Disability Insurance. NCQA pays premium coverage for short-term and long-term disability insurance. Employees may purchase additional long-term disability insurance.
- Workers’ Compensation. NCQA provides insurance in the event you are injured while at work.
- Paid Time-Off (PTO). Employees earn all-purpose time off for vacation, illness or injury, and personal business.
- Parental Leave. New parents receive 8 weeks of parental leave to bond and care for their newborn or adopted child.
- Official Holidays. NCQA observes 10 holidays in addition to closing at noon the day before Thanksgiving, closing the day after Thanksgiving, and closing at noon on Christmas Eve.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Employees may consult our EAP for help with a variety of personal or workplace problems.
- Educational Assistance. Employees may receive up to $5,250 reimbursement annually for tuition and other education expenses or fees.
- SmartBenefits®/Parking. Employees may pay public transit costs on a pre-tax basis. They may also pay for certain monthly parking spaces on a pre-tax basis.
