NCQA’s HEDIS® and CAHPS® Legacy Set
December 16, 2015 · NCQA
NCQA is joining the “free the data” movement by releasing past HEDIS® and CAHPS® datasets. HEDIS and CAHPS are used by more than 90 percent of America’s health plans to measure performance on important dimensions of care and service. The popular national legacy datasets are offered free of charge.
The HEDIS and CAHPS Legacy Set includes national benchmark and plan level data previously released by NCQA. Results are in Excel format and are separated by product line (commercial, Medicaid) for HEDIS/CAHPS years 2005–2010. Measures are reported across five domains:
- Access and Availability of Care.
- Effectiveness of Care.
- Health Plan Descriptive Information.
- Member Satisfaction.
- Use of Services.
The public can use NCQA’s HEDIS and CAHPS Legacy set to compare hundreds of managed health care plans against each other or against national averages and percentiles—comparing plan performance on an “apples-to-apples” basis.
