“It Takes a Neighborhood”
Some say Neighborhood Health of Rhode Island is the kind of health care plan that gives its patients the feeling of having a warm blanket around their shoulders.
The people at Neighborhood pride themselves on that quality of care while scoring among the best health plans in the country, especially in caring for children.
Ranked by NCQA as one of the top Medicaid health plans in America every year since rankings began in 2004, “Neighborhood” serves over 143,000 members. It was founded in 1993 by 13-community health centers to ensure everyone in the state has access to high-quality, affordable health care.
Success in achieving top-rated quality care also comes from a collective commitment among providers and state government, who are all partners in pursuit of improvement.
Elizabeth Roberts, Secretary of the Rhode Island Department of Health and Human Service says, “Rhode Island was ranked number one in the county for quality of services provided through Medicaid for kids and families. We would never have achieved that goal without Neighborhood.”
