About this Webinar Training

Gender Harmony: A Standards-Based Approach to Improving Sex and Gender Identity Data in Quality Measurement

In this panel experts from the standards, terminology, quality measurement and a gender-affirming care provider come together to discuss a standards-based approach to improve data quality via more accurate Sex and Gender Identity SDOH data. Panel members will clearly articulate why disambiguating sex and gender identity data in clinical systems is critically important to improving clinical outcomes and ensuring data quality. Specifically the panel will cover the primary challenges, provide a rationale for change, and present the current state of standards (e.g., FHIR, CDA, V2, USCDI) in relation to sex and gender data elements and quality measurement. NCQA will share recent approaches to advancing gender equity in quality measurement and describe how emerging sex and gender data standards have enabled more inclusive and clinically sound measurement of high-quality care in HEDIS.
