NCQA Session At MESC
Making Measurement Efficient and Effective: Advancing Digital Quality Transformation
State Medicaid Programs are seeking reduced measure burden, a more effective learning health system, and increased support for value-based care. Emerging standards and regulations are enabling a digital transformation. The industry has taken steps to adopt interoperability standards as regulatory forces drive investment, and quality is the top use case. This shift will lead to reduced burden and costs, better alignment, more relevant measures and ultimately, better care and outcomes. This session will focus on the movement to digital quality measurement by the health care industry, including the use of bulk Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) for more efficient quality reporting.

Learn More About NCQA Programs to Support Your Data Ecosystem
Introducing the NCQA Digital Quality Hub
Moving from traditional quality measurement to digital quality is a complex endeavor. Our newly launched Digital Quality Hub is a comprehensive resource center that can support your transition to digital quality. Find timelines, roadmaps, checklists, readiness resources and general information tailored to the areas of digital quality transition most important to your state.
Boost Confidence in Your State’s Clinical Data
Data integrity is crucial during clinical data exchange. NCQA developed the Data Aggregator Validation program to ensure that data exchanged by public and private health plans is reliable and can be trusted. We validate clinical data streams, making them suitable for use in HEDIS® reporting, value-based contracting and closing gaps in care.
Join the Digital Revolution in Quality Measurement
Transition from traditional measurement methods to a digital approach. With NCAQ’s Digital Content Services, you can easily configure, schedule and run digital HEDIS measures in your cloud environment. Our FHIR® CQL HEDIS measures and built-in measure engine offer a seamless solution that aligns with the latest data standards.
If you’re a payer organization or ACO and have Bulk FHIR clinical data you’d like to use to calculate HEDIS results, consider joining the Bulk FHIR Quality Coalition. This NCQA/public-private sector collaboration brings together industry stakeholders to evaluate the quality of real-world FHIR Bulk Data and to accelerate solutions for making this data truly trusted and usable.
ECDS and the Future of HEDIS®
The HEDIS Electronic Clinical Data Systems (ECDS) reporting standard gives health plans a method for collecting and reporting standard electronic clinical data for HEDIS quality measurement and improvement. As HEDIS undergoes its own digital transformation, connect with our team to learn the measures that have transitioned to ECDS-only reporting—and what this means for health plans and states.
Bridge the Gap Between Health Care Data and Action
NCQA Quality Compass® offers the nation’s most comprehensive dataset covering Medicaid, Medicare, commercial and Exchange health plans. Access health plan performance metrics, benchmarks and customized reports to make data-driven decisions that enhance patient outcomes.
